The Colombian Ministers of Defense, Health, and Foreign Affairs have met with their Brazilian counterparts in order to discuss a plan for the two countries to coordinate a response to increasing amounts of COVID cases on their shared border. New York has extended its stay-at-home order until at least June 13th. Retail chain JC Penney has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy after taking on $4.2 billion in debt. The chain will also close an unknown amount of stores. The US House of Representatives passed a $3T coronavirus aid package. The bill will include more stimulus checks, rent relief, and bailouts for states among other things. The $3T bill still needs to go to the Senate and if it passes, the President. Lastly, Air Canada announced it will lay off 20,000 employees starting early June. Worldwide air traffic has declined well over 90%.
